1. This update has come a little later than anticipated, but with more time comes more content. So I guess it’s not all bad?

It goes without saying that a ski resort is a busy place, and being the one person taking pictures I’m certainly feeling the pressure. Luckily, I have had a lot of positive feedback on my work and that more than makes up for the tight deadlines and long hours. I have also been taking pictures of things I have wanted to shoot for the longest time and so stoked to tick them off the list. These three shots above are examples of what I’ve been doing recently!

Sunshine Village has been a great way to showcase my work as the reach from the Facebook page especially is so vast and means I get a lot of views. It has also shown a boost of interest in the RWND Facebook page and instagram. Great news!

More awesome things from recently, I have had my first advert printed. Super stoked. It is an advert for UnLtd, a snowboard shop in Banff, where two of my pictures have been printed on the bins at the base of the Sunshine Village Gondola. It’s pretty surreal to see my pictures being printed out large like that. Fingers crossed there’ll be more where that came from.

This month also sees the departure of my dear friend, Mary. She’s an absolute diamond and I wish her all the best on her travels in the UK and Europe, stoked that I get to hang out with her in England this summer! Mary gave me the encouragement needed to start writing on my blog (she is a journalist after all!) and I’m hoping that I can keep it up. Bon Voyage, Miss Minogue.

    Until next time,

  2. I started this blog as a way of documenting my season in Canada via pictures. It seems only fair I actually write a bit about what’s going on, even my young brain seems to forget things almost immediately.

This evening I’ve been working up on hill for the night, taking shots with Ben whilst he was grooming the park. So sweet to see someone that stoked on their job and creating a fun park for all of us to enjoy every day. Also got some more footage in preparation for next weeks slope-style event at Sunshine Village. Then got a few shots with Scott Moffatt during his performance in Chimney Corner restaurant. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of him in the spring for slush cup.

It has also been puking snow here! Last four days or so it’s been snowing pretty consistently, it’s made for some pretty epic powder days and I’ve probably had some of the best turns of my life. LC, pictured above, took me for a couple of runs on Goats Eye and we got a few sweet photos.

It then goes without saying, the new job is pretty awesome. Skiing around and taking pictures and video, pretty much the dream job. It can get a little stressful at times with tight deadlines and direction coming from all angles but I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I’m going to try and keep up with writing more about what goes on here, it’ll be a nice compliment to the pictures.

    Until next time.
